Wilson’s Last Stand in New York?
September 22, 2025
The Giants held the 0-2 Kansas City Chiefs offense to 22 points in the primetime slot on Sunday but still couldn’t come up with the win. Russell Wilson led the offense to three field goals but was far too inefficient in the second half to get the job done despite a few golden opportunities in the red zone.
One play that stands out from the disastrous red zone drive was when Wilson decided to throw the ball up the MetLife tunnel instead of throwing the ball away. The decision resulted in an intentional grounding. Another play looked like he was trying to hit the crossbar of the field goal post. It was a dreadful showing from a QB that needs to make big changes or be replaced. The Wilson deep shot moonballs days are done. They came up short for two interceptions and a few others could’ve resulted in a turn over as well. The target on the play, mostly Nabers, had no shot at them and nearly got hurt on one play due to how poor the pass was.
The crowd would erupt any time Jaxson Dart would come in and “boo” when Wilson would come back out and replace him. I’m not sure what Daboll is doing here or how he’s still in a head coaching position to begin with. How many mulligan’s does this guy get? Dart might not be ready, but if you don’t make a QB change soon, the next coaching staff will get to take advantage of all the young talent that New York has accumulated. That defense looks fantastic, Nabers and Skattebo are budding stars. The last step here is to get the rookie quarterback ready to put some excitement back into this organization.
