Keith, Commish

A Fantasy Season with THE Dynasty League is a behind-the-scenes look at one commissioner’s journey through a homegrown dynasty fantasy football league. Each week covers trades, roster moves, rookie updates, league drama, and more — all from the perspective of a manager playing the long game. It’s fantasy football with history, strategy, and just the right amount of chaos.

Week 12: Chaos, Clunkers, and a Whole Lot of 7–5 Energy

Week 12 is in the books, the trade deadline is useless, and half the league has decided to cosplay as 7–5 purgatory. Injuries, byes, and questionable life choices were everywhere. Some teams rose, some faceplanted, and a few are clinging to playoff hopes with the strength of a wet paper towel. Let’s dive into the carnage.

Week 12 Trades: 1QB PPFD

The trade deadline has passed. Highly advise not having one of these or at least not allowing for the deadline to hit until the end of the regular season.

Wednesday Morning Waivers: $100 FAAB Budget

Harrison Mevis (Bronze Universe) – $0

Game Recaps

Everyone’s Hurts is somewhat beat up but will always have a shot at a win with Jahmyr Gibbs in the lineup as he can win weeks himself. Gibbs erupted for 70 points and propelled his squad to a league high 241 in week 12. Hunt (33), AJB (26) and Browns D (28) all chipped in because.. Why not?! A matchup vs BPE is a good time for guys to go nuclear just for fun and they improve to 8-4 while moving into 2nd in the standings.

Big Penix Energy finally had a shot to win but fell to some bad luck with the opponent having the best week of anyone else. The team is 2-5 over the last 7 weeks and the 5-0 start feels like forever ago now. They were forced to go without Jacobs, Chase and Waddle this week and had to rely on Emanual (38) and Sean Tucker (6). The team played well enough to win as the third highest score but will now face a tough road with 8-4 Shake n Bake coming to town.

Bronze Universe (7-5) vs Amon Ra Doggin Your Girl (7-5)

Ra Doggin got the big win and improved to 7-5 begin St. Brown (32) and another monster day from George Pickens (32). Pickens has officially become the Cowboys WR1 and ranks second only behind JSN in scoring this season. Unless Lamb cleans up his drop issue soon, it’s looking like it’ll be the GP show for the remainder of the fantasy season. Ra Doggin rolled the dice at QB with Rodgers and Nix out/on bye and was fortunate to come away with enough points to hang in there from Geno Smith (24). They’re sitting comfy and take on a Flea Market team in week 13 who’s fighting for their season.

The loss brings Bronze Universe back to a four way tie for third place. Bronze desperately needs Mahomes and Kelce to get back to their high scoring ways if their season is going to continue into the playoffs. With so many teams tied right now, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will take over. But the good news is they’ll have a good shot at a week 13 victory when they take on Yoshi & Friends. Bronze has been relying on big performances from Dowdle, Jennings, and Michael Wilson. Without big games from those guys, they won’t have much of a chance.

Blue Know It (6-6) vs Yoshi & Friends (3-9)

Yoshi was the first team to get eliminated from the playoff race as they dropped yet another game making it their third loss in a row. They’ve scored 9th or worse in half the weeks so far. It has definitely been a season to forget for this group as they’ve been desperate to find startable pieces just about anywhere. My recommendation would be to just pay attention to college at this point so you can start scouting the draft for next August.

Blue Know It keeps on fighting and finds themselves back at .500. The issue is that they’re currently on the outside looking in with so many teams tied at 7-5 above them. They’ll get their chance in week 13 to defeat one of them that could be the difference between making the post-season or coming up short. Saquon (10) and Jettas (7) have never really found themselves this season dealing with different issues with their team. If there were ever a time to start scoring points like we’re used to seeing from them, now would be it!

The Flea Market (5-7) vs Staff Infection (5-7)

Flea Market takes a bad loss which will essentially end their season. There’s still an outside shot they make the playoffs with some luck needed from others and having to win out. It’s doable, as their next two opponents are currently placed above them, but it’ll be tough. This one was more than winnable against a sinking Staff Infection squad but Flea encountered more QB issues with Jordan Love who only put up 11. With Corum (4) and Downs (1) not helping out, the loss was inevitable. There’s still a chance to redeem this week but the wins won’t come easy.

Technically speaking, Staff Infection will also have a chance. However, with so many players consistently scoring low such as Goedert (3), Hock (2), Shepherd (1) and more, it’s unthinkable that they’d have a shot now. Bijan (17) continues to be the bright spot, but unless he starts scoring like Gibbs, I’m not sure what else he can do. Drake London riding the bench due to injury also doesn’t help. If he doesn’t come back this week, it’ll be too late for SI’s 2025 season.

Accepting Trade Offers (7-5) vs Ricky B (5-7)

Trade Offers drops to 7-5 as Lamar Jackson fails to hit 10 points for the second week in a row. The do everything CMC  (33) game on Monday came JUST short of delivering a victory! The team may also be without Tee Higgins moving forward as he went down with a head injury in the Bengals contest. The good news for ATO is that Bucky Irving should be on his way back and provide some much needed help during this playoff push. They’ll clash in a meaningful one against the 6-6 Blue Know It squad who is also in need of a win to keep their hopes alive.

This win was made possible by Ricky B’s pickup of Greg Dortch (20). With Josh Allen (14) having a hard time on a short week in Houston, this matchup was CLOSE. Ultimately, Ricky pulled out the 113-109 upset victory. He’ll get an opportunity to play spoiler and mess with Everyone’s Hurts playoff seeding in week 13 with a win.

Shake N Bake (8-4) vs Hanks You Very Much (4-8)

The win was a pivotal one for Shake N Bake this week as they remain above the 7-5 mess beneath them and retain the number one spot. Hanks can be a dangerous opponent but with Miami and Achane on bye week, they were a little shorthanded. It’s tough to win with multiple zeros in the lineup from Jordan Addison and Jameson Williams. Running back Tank Bigsby was essentially a 0 himself with only .8 points to show. Shake N Bake is fully cooking now and it would appear the team has hit its stride. Currently riding a three game winning streak and set to add Joe Burrow to their lineup. They’ve finished 3rd or better in scoring the last 4 weeks and have a good chance to win out with a struggling Penix Energy team on the schedule for week 13 followed by a dead Staff Infection in week 14.
