Week 12

Your emergency replacements are here! Whether you’re a little desperate or all of the alarms are now going off, there should be a couple names on your waiver wire to produce a little bit of depth or to enter as your emergency plug in. Let’s get into it!

Running Backs

Emanuel Wilson 30% rostered

Hopefully you’ve been ahead of the curve on this one as he’s been the clear backup to Josh Jacobs this season. He’s even seen some of the workload while Jacobs was dealing with that calf issue. The Packers clearly trusted him enough to lean on him when they needed to keep the running game alive, and will likely lean on him moving forward should Jacobs miss significant time.

Sean Tucker 47% rostered

Tucker has always been a talented back and the Bucs coaching staff thought so enough to lean on him over Rachaad White. Should Bucky Irving miss week 12, there should be no fear in flexing Sean Tucker. It’ll be a tough matchup against the Rams, but the workload will be there, which is all you can ask for. He’s produced for a few weeks now, but

Jaleel McLaughlin 4% rostered

If you were in a position to wait and see who the backup to RJ Harvey would be, it looks like McLaughlin is your guy. 6 rushing attempts isn’t anything to write home about, but JK Dobbins is out of the picture for good.

Wide Receivers

Tyrell Shavers 1% rostered

The Bills have an abundance of WR 4’s and 5’s and are just waiting for someone to step into a more meaningful role. With Keon Coleman sidelines, it was Tyrell Shavers who earned the most targets from Josh Allen in their shootout with the Bucs. He turned that opportunity into 90 yards and a touchdown. I might not start him right away, but I’d definitely stash and see what the workload looks like with Coleman back in the fold.

Michael Wilson 27% rostered

I’d tread lightly on this one. Michael Wilson has all the talent to be the lead guy in Arizona. He  showed that much on Sunday, though it did take an insane number of passing attempts (57) by Jacoby Brissett in a losing game script to get there. Note Marvin Harrison was also sidelined with an injury and is questionable for week 12. If Harrison misses another game, Wilson may be worth a flex. A word of warning that targets have never been the issue with Wilson, it’s been his inability to do much with them.

Adonai Mitchell 5% rostered

Okay, I get it, his first game as a Jet last week was awful. But look around, who else do they have? New York announced a quarterback change to Tyrod Taylor which, believe it or not, should be a decent upgrade over what we’ve seen lately out of Justin Fields. With Garrett Wilson on IR and this team still playing REALLY bad, Mitchell could make for a fun desperation play. He’s also now had additional time to learn the playbook.
