Back in Style: The 5 Best Throwback Uniforms of the NFL Season
August 22, 2025
As the 2025 NFL season kicks off, fans will be treated to a wave of classic looks returning to the field. Each team is allowed to break out their alternate uniforms up to four times per season. Here are five throwback uniforms that stand out as the most exciting this year.
Denver Broncos

Obviously, I am a little biased here, but the 1977 throwbacks, re-introduced in 2024, are one of my favorite uniforms of all-time. The orange and powder blue look… pops! When the Broncos break out the vintage field look as well, it is about as good as it gets in the NFL.
Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers unveiled their 1923 vintage uniforms, and they are incredible. Navy blue jerseys with first-of-their-kind airbrushed helmets to look like leather helmets? I mean, come on. This one I can’t wait to see on the field. The Packers can wear them up to three times, if they wear their white-out jerseys once.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Another great vintage uniform, the Buccaneers just threw it back to their inaugural season jerseys. They are white jerseys, instead of the orange creamsicle they have been wearing for a few years now.
New England Patriots

Besides the Denver Broncos, this may be one of my favorite uniforms. The red, white and blue with the “Pat Patriot” on the side of the helmet, is just gorgeous. One of the best vintage looks in the NFL.
Miami Dolphins

This look just brings back the memories of days gone by; Super Bowl champions, the only undefeated team in NFL history, and the Dan Marino era. These should be permanent, and the Dolphins should do away with the cartoon-looking Dolphin of the new age.
Throwback uniforms always bring a special kind of nostalgia to the game, and 2025 has no shortage of great looks. No matter which team you root for, these classics remind us why football’s history is just as exciting as its future.
