Rodgers Rules Dublin: Steelers Take Down Vikings Abroad

September 29, 2025

Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers earned the victory in Dublin over the Vikings early Sunday morning. No matter what time zone you’re in, if you watch these out of country matchups, consider yourself a real fan.

Aaron Rodgers had looked slow in New York. He looked washed, consistently out of sync with his weapons, slow and inaccurate. We could keep going but I think that’s painted the picture. The point of bringing that up is to highlight how different he has looked in Pittsburgh, Rodgers is moving well in the pocket, avoiding pass rush and even taking off to run for first downs. His final stat line may only read 200 yards through the air with one touchdown, but, boy, did it look different. At the start of the second quarter, Rodgers connected with DK Metcalf for an 80 yard score. One of those throw it to DK and let him outrun everybody plays, and he left no doubt. While DK did most of the work on the scoring play, it showed the chemistry now being shown between Rodgers and his offensive weapons.

We can’t write about the Steelers first international victory without mentioning the dominance displayed by ..Kenneth Gainwell?!? Yep, you read that right. With Jaylen Warren sitting out due to a knee issue, the backfield was all Gainwell. All he did was turn 19 carries into 99 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground while adding 6 catches for 35 yards through the air. He looked like a man possessed and perhaps coach Mike Tomlin does know what he’s doing trying to get him more involved each week.

The win improved their record to 3-1 as they head into a week 5 bye. Pittsburgh will return with two big divisional matchups against Cleveland and a struggling Bengals team in weeks 6 and 7. Opportunity is there for Rodgers and company to take hold of their division as we begin the October portion of the NFL schedule.
