Seahawks Soar Past Commanders in Sunday Night Rout
November 3, 2025
Sunday night in Landover, Maryland, the Seahawks delivered a dominant road performance to defeat the Commanders 38-14, maintaining their perfect 4-0 record away from home. With momentum firmly in Seattle’s corner and critical injury setbacks plaguing Washington, this game took shape early and never really slowed.
The Seahawks grabbed control from the start. Quarterback Sam Darnold was in a groove, completing his first 17 passes and throwing four touchdown passes before his first incompletion. He finished 21/24 for 330 yards and four scores.
Washington’s offense showed flashes, including a one-yard touchdown run by their quarterback Jayden Daniels just before halftime that made it 28-7. But overall, their execution was poor: penalties, turnovers, and inability to sustain drives crippled them. The night took a darker turn for Washington in the fourth quarter when Jayden Daniels suffered a serious left elbow injury while being tackled near the goal line. He had been returning from hamstring issues earlier, and now his status is uncertain for upcoming weeks. Prior to that, the Commanders lost Luke McCaffrey due to a broken collar bone. McCaffrey stepped up after they traded away Brian Robinson and Deebo Samuel, giving the offense the edge they needed, and now with Luke and Terry out, it doesn’t look like the Commanders have a great chance this season.
If Washington’s playoff hopes are to remain alive, they’ll need a corrective plan quickly: fewer mistakes, better fundamentals, and a healthy QB. Seattle, by contrast, can keep building off this dominant road showing and the confidence that comes with it.
The Seahawks left no doubt in this one: from Darnold’s sharp execution to the Commanders’ unraveling, the 38-14 outcome was both decisive and symbolic. Washington’s night, already tough, was compounded by a serious injury to their QB. Seattle, meanwhile, sets their sights on the rest of the season with momentum in hand.
