Patriot Revival Rolls On: Maye, Defense Dominate Giants on MNF

December 2, 2025

If you listen closely, you can still hear the “MVP” chants coming from Gillette Stadium. Drake Maye had many moments to get the crowd going on his night completing 77% of his passes for 282 yards and 2 scores. New England notched their 10th win in a row for their 11th on the season and the Patriot revival continued through another week. We’ve seen some of the dominant teams like the Rams and Colts sputter and appear average, but we really haven’t witnessed this Vrabel led group take a step back. They’ve played total team football, as evidenced from the 94 yard Marcus Jones return for a touchdown, and are playing tough in all facets of the game. They certainly didn’t have their own kicker completely miss the ball and toe bash the turf.

If there was one complaint, it’d be for us to see more TreVeyon Henderson. Rhamondre Stevenson returned last week but to a minimal role, he played 58% of the snaps at running back in week 13 despite about half the ypc that Henderson achieved. Overall, both were productive and assisted the passing game as you’d hope, adding in 6 total receptions between the two as an outlet for Maye. Maye distributed his 24 completions to eight different targets including the two beautiful touchdowns to Kayshon Boutte and Kyle Williams. Boutte has come such a long way since his rookie year and it speaks volumes to the job their coaching staff has done as he’s on his way to career highs in year 3.

With Will Campbell now on IR after the scary injury in the Bengals game, the offensive line has been shifted around a little bit. The change resulted in 9 hurries and 3 sacks allowed on the night. Not devastating but a small step back and the most sacks allowed since the week 9 matchup against the Falcons. Campbell is expected to return after the IR stint which is obviously massive considering the impact he brings to the group.

While the Patriot defense “only” got to Dart three times on the night, they made him work for everything he got and contained him to 139 yards through the air and just 20 yards on the ground. With Dart just returning from concussion injuries, it’s still a little bit surprising how aggressive they’re letting him play out there with his scrambles and diving head first for yardage. He still finished with a respectable competition percentage but the Giants just don’t have the weapons to help support him right now with Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson as their headliners. They’re absolutely capable of making plays and have been over the last several weeks with quarterbacks filtering in and out, but are better suited for second and third options instead of first reads. Everything will only improve as long as Dart can remain healthy and continue to build chemistry with his teammates.

The only other score came on a trick play from Devin Singletary that just happened to catch the Patriot defense napping a bit. Outside of a few plays, it was all New England as they made a statement win on Monday Night primetime. It was a statement in a sense that on a weekend where we saw the great teams this season lose (Rams, Colts), the Patriots just went to work and walked away victorious. I can’t believe I’m saying it, but the Patriots have been so fun to watch and Mike Vrabel has this team focused as they head into their bye week.
