Packers and Cowboys Stalemate in Overtime Circus
September 29, 2025
Five quarters of football later, the game ended in a 40-40 tie, the first kiss-your-sister game of the year. Green Bay now sits at 2-1-1, while Dallas remains at 1-2-1.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love went 31-of-43 for 337 yards and three touchdowns while Cowboys counterpart Dak Prescott went 31-of-40 for 319 yards and three touchdowns.
The biggest storyline was always going to be Micah Parsons vs. Cowboys; however, Parsons never really impacted the pass rush. The Packers started fast before having an extra point blocked (the eventual difference in the game) and the ‘Boys storming back.
This brings up an interesting question, as there always seems to be when there is a tie: should the NFL settle ties in much the same way it goes in college? Two-point conversion tries until a winner is decided? Or, should the league adapt a format similar to the MLB’s all-star format: a good old-fashioned kick-off?
