No Fly Zone: Giants Clip the Eagles’ Wings in Prime Time
October 10, 2025
Only a few days after the New England Patriots had slain the big bad wolf in their own division, the New York Giants were given the opportunity to do the same. All the Giants did on Thursday was deliver an emphatic victory over the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles and put the LIFE back in Metlife Stadium.
You can’t possibly write about the Giants without talking about Jaxson Dart. I mean, my goodness. Running right at the heart of the Eagles defense for their first score of the game for the touchdown was about as big a statement as he could have made. That vaunted, terrifying Eagles defense? Not anymore! Dart and Cam Skattebo made them fully aware of what they’ll be up against for the next decade. Dart was dicing up Philly while throwing to Wan’Dale Robinson and Lil’Jordan Humphrey while rushing for nearly 50 yards of his own.
Speaking of Skattebo, this was supposed to be the battle of the backs. Saquon returning to New York, the Giants with their rookie runner. It was a nice setup for each to show what they had these days. While Saquon spent much of the night bottled up, Skattebo had his bruising runs on FULL display coming just two yards short of a 100 yard night. The kid is a one man wrecking crew, arm tacklers need not apply. At 23 years young, he is the next coming of Derrick Henry, and he was able to pound his way into the endzone for a touchdown hat trick. The Eagles defense appeared to have absolutely no interest in getting his way. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t either, but I’m not being paid millions to stop him.
These two young stars are becoming fan favorites not only with their play on the field but who they are off of it as well. Shirtless postgame chest bumps between Skat and Ryan Fitzpatrick only make fans love him even more. However, I don’t think anyone loves Jaxson Dart more than Brian Daboll who’s always seen. The Giants dominated the Philadelphia Eagles on a night where the Phillies were also sent home in the MLB post-season. Needless to say, it wasn’t a great Thursday to be a Philly fan.
