Monday’s Quick Hitters (Week 15)
December 15, 2025
Bills vs. Patriots
What a game this one was! It was the one to watch heading into Sunday and it absolutely delivered. Buffalo needed this one in order to avoid the season sweep and they earned the victory in a big way. New England came out firing on all cylinders and took a 24-7 lead into half. Anywhere you went on the internet, people were calling for McDermott to be fired, that Josh Allen was a fraud.. But then the second half started and they rattled off a 28-7 run to secure the biggest win of the year. There was a moment in between where Buffalo fought back just to immediately give up a long touchdown run to TreVeyon Henderson. James Cook responded with 7 minutes to go in the fourth and they never looked back.
Colts vs. Seahawks
Pick a storyline here. Indianapolis trades two first round picks for a defensive back that isn’t playing, they lost their starting QB to an achilles tear and are now free falling in the standings. Oh yeah, and they brought Phillip Rivers back from retirement and handed him the keys while asking him to go save them. Whatever it was, it gave the defense a new life as they kept the Seahawks out of the endzone and gave their offense a fighting chance. The difficulty of what Rivers tried to accomplish here cannot be undersold. Going on the road to face a top defense in Seattle after just a few days of practice, at his age? It’s unreal. The Seahawks earned the victory off of six field goals but Rivers gave them a fighting chance. The Colts will now host the 49ers at home next Monday Night with a ton on the line.
Lions vs. Rams
Stafford has enjoyed more success early since the trade. Perhaps the Lions feel like they “won” the last few years with great opportunities to win it all, though failing to cash in. But it has now swung back to Stafford’s favor as he hosted his former team in week 15 and earned the impressive win. The Lions continued to be hell-bent on jamming Gibbs up the middle for minimal yardage, and the Rams welcomed that decision while shutting him down on the day. Detroit is sort of shooting themselves in the foot. Whether it’s the playcalling or untimely mistakes, they’re no doubt missing Ben Johnson who’s enjoying first place in the North. Stafford struggled early but very quickly locked in, brought his team all the way back and improved his Rams to 11-3 while potentially delivering the nail in the coffin for the Lions playoff hopes.
Packers vs. Broncos
They’ll tell you they’re not listening to all the noise but have no problem responding to it. The best way those Broncos could possibly respond is by taking down Green Bay at home. Bo Nix had a stellar day while throwing for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. Delivering targets to 8 different teammates, it was a masterclass against a quality opponent. Not to mention just how badly Green Bay needs to keep winning in order to keep up with Chicago (who blew out the Browns in week 15). Jordan Love made some plays but discovered that Denver’s defense is no joke. Those Broncos got to him three times and forced two interceptions. Josh Jacobs chipped in with 73 hard earned yards on the ground and one of the most beautiful touchdown grabs you’ll see a running back haul in. The Packers get a monumental sized game vs Chicago next week while the 12-2 Broncos will host the surprising Jaguars.
Panthers vs. Saints
Tyler Shough, anybody? Who would’ve thought we’d be getting a week 15 dual between Bryce Young and 3rd round rookie quarterback Shough.. And for it to actually be enjoyable! I’ll answer, not me. Shough continues to be a bright spot for New Orleans and show why he was worth the selection last April. I’m not so sure he’s the quarterback of the future but he’s certainly making his case to get the opportunity in 2026. The Saints have now taken down back to back NFC South opponents in the Bucs and Panthers, both of which NEED wins right now to take the division. But let’s give Bryce Young some flowers, too. He’s been written off by many but has the Panthers in contention (Despite losing Sunday). He’s making it work with rookie receiver McMillan but other players like Rico Dowdle and Jalen Coker. Not exactly a star studded cast. Young has struggled in his career against the Saints but very nearly pulled off the win. Carolina still controls their own destiny but they’re set up for a massive game against Tampa Bay next week.
