Monday’s Quick Hitters (Week 13)
December 1, 2025
Rams vs. Panthers
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford set an NFL record on Sunday as he connected with Davonte Adams for a touchdown pass. The throw was significant as it was his 28th straight without throwing an interception. Stafford then, of course, immediately threw two interceptions. One of which went for a pick-six! He and Davonte Adams appeared to have found the fountain of youth, connecting for two touchdowns in this one, but the day surprisingly belonged to the Carolina Panthers. The Carolina defense forced three total turnovers for Bryce Young and allowed him to carve up LA for 206 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Colts vs. Texans
Indianapolis has now dropped two in a row and may be on fraud alert for a lot of folks out there. Houston was coming off a big win last week against the Bills, got their starting quarterback back in the lineup, and took a big victory over the mighty Colts. Daniel Jones is reportedly playing through a fractured fibula which would obviously be affecting something for him. No matter how tough you are, that’s a hell of an injury to battle through while you’re getting hit and tossed by 300+ lb defensive linemen. The Texans have quietly come within a win of the Colts and the two teams will match up once again in week 18 with potentially everything on the line.
Vikings vs. Seahawks
The Sam Darnold vs the Vikings storyline ended up becoming a bit of a dud. We would expect the Minnesota offense to struggle given that they were forced to start an undrafted rookie at QB with the loss of JJ McCarthy to yet another injury. Both defenses got absolutely after it, and truth be told, Minnesota probably “won” the matchup against Darnold as they completely shut him down. Ultimately, we only care about real wins, and the Vikings ended up being shutout for the first time since 2007 at the hands of Brett Favre. Brian Flores no doubt had Darnold seeing ghosts and shut down their offense until Charbonnet was finally able to break through with the game’s only offensive touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Bucs vs. Cardinals
Despite what appeared to be a rather serious shoulder injury for Baker Mayfield, he suited up and started for the Bucs in their home matchup with Arizona. As expected, he didn’t necessarily light up the scoreboard but he protected the football and threw for a score. Baker probably took a few more hits than we’d like to see but he came out “healthy” and got the W. Tampa also welcomed back Bucky Irving who has missed a ton of time himself as he rushed for 60 yards and a score. The Cardinals’ Jacoby Brissett still managed to throw for 300 yards and got their young star receiver, Marvin Harrison, more involved. The Arizona offense has looked completely different with Brissett in the lineup and you have to wonder where this team would be had they started him earlier in the season.
Broncos vs. Commanders
WOW! Hopefully you stayed up late enough to see the ending of this because most of the game wasn’t worth watching. The Broncos offense struggled against Washington for most of the contest and Marcus Mariota led his team to a comeback field goal to send it to OT. I’m not sure we’ve seen Mariota look this good in quite some time. Running for 55 yards, throwing for nearly 300 yards and 2 scores. It really left you feeling like you truly watched him leave it all out on the field. The Broncos scored first in OT and Mariota came right back despite the officials’ best attempts to keep them down and out. McLaurin beat Surtain for the game tying touchdown, but the Commanders went for two, and watched Mariota’s pass get swatted away. The battle of the Oregon Quarterbacks was won by Bo Nix in a thrilling Sunday Night matchup.
