Josh Allen Breaks NFL QB Rushing TD Record as Bills Roll Past Steelers

December 1, 2025

The stage was set at Acrisure Stadium as the Bills looked to bounce back from their Week 12 loss. After trailing 7–3 at halftime, Buffalo surged in the second half behind a dominant ground game, key defensive plays, and an historic moment from Josh Allen. The final score: Bills 26, Steelers 7.

Buffalo piled up 249 rushing yards, the most by any visiting team in Acrisure Stadium history, as the Bills’ run game tore through Pittsburgh’s defense. The momentum shifted for good in the third quarter when a sack by linebacker Joey Bosa forced a fumble, which was scooped up and returned for a touchdown by Christian Benford. That defensive TD gave Buffalo their first lead of the game, and they never looked back.

But the headline belonged to Josh Allen. Early in the fourth quarter, on a third-and-goal, Allen powered through for an 8-yard rushing touchdown, his 76th career rushing TD. With that run, Allen officially broke the NFL’s all-time record for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. He now sits alone atop that list, surpassing Cam Newton.  That touchdown wasn’t just a number, it underscored what makes Allen so dangerous. His blend of size, speed, and grit forces defenses to account for him as both a passer and a runner, adding a whole extra dimension to the Bills’ offense. Over his career, Allen has repeatedly proved that when the moment calls for it, he’ll lead with his legs.

In the end, the win was more than just a boost in the standings. It was a statement. Buffalo showed they can dig deep, rally from behind, and dominate both sides of the ball when needed. With all said: if there was ever a perfect day to set an NFL record, this was it.
