Five Things to Watch this Weekend (Week 15)

December 11, 2025

Here are our top 5 story lines to follow heading into the weekend.

1. Bills vs. Patriots

Josh Allen and the Bills are looking to avoid the season sweep against New England. This time they’re going to have to go into Foxborough to get the job done. The Patriots are coming off of a bye week after notching their 10th straight victory and have looked like a complete machine while doing so. Now, the Patriots have notably had one of the easier schedules in the entire league but they still have to win those games. Not only have they won, they’ve left zero doubt that they’re for real. Buffalo is coming off a big win against the Bengals where they fell behind but had to make spectacular plays to mount a comeback win. This matchup is definitely our game of the week.

2. Chargers vs. Chiefs

The Chiefs are 6-7. That’s for real, not just the TikTok trend (gross). There have been excuses all along about how they’re slow starters, they use September to figure things out.. Well, it’s time. Kansas City is up against the ropes and the Chargers can finish them off. Justin Herbert is playing with a hand put together by screws and plates.. It resulted in a rough game last week against Philly, and now he’ll go into Arrowhead to try and put down the AFC Champs. Kansas City has shown their age a little bit lately. Chris Jones hasn’t been himself, Travis Kelce continues to watch passes bounce off his hands, it’s been rough.

3. Lions vs. Rams

Detroit won the battle last Thursday Night over Dallas for two teams fighting to keep their season alive, and they’ll have to do it again. The Rams aren’t desperate, but Detroit can’t lose again if they’re hoping to play January football. The Lions are limping into this one a little bit after losing Brian Branch to a torn achilles. They almost seem ripe for the picking for their old quarterback Matthew Stafford to deliver some payback after the last loss he took in the playoffs. Stafford has been playing lights out this season on his way to an MVP bid and is looking to add a victory to LA’s stack of wins in 2025.

4. Colts vs. Seahawks

We don’t know if Phillip Rivers is playing this weekend at this time of writing. But if he is? Come on now. There’s no way it goes well but the football fan in me will be tuned in to see how the 2025 version of Rivers looks. He’s admittedly playing at a higher weight but the try out went well enough for Indy to bring him in. It sounds as though they contacted a few other QBs too, so it’s not like they were totally settling. Whoever is listed as the starter needs to deliver a win. Indy traded too much away for a Sauce Gardner that won’t be playing to drop out of the post season picture.

5. Vikings vs. Cowboys

Jerry Jones made all those moves at the deadline for the Cowboys to just miss the playoffs? I don’t think so. But they took a big step back with their loss to Detroit last week. Playoff football for Dak and the boys starts now! Minnesota is hardly a challenge. At least, they shouldn’t be for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. CeeDee Lamb has been lightly practicing after missing much of the game in Detroit with a concussion. George Pickens was dragged through the media with accusations of pouting and quitting on his team. There’s a lot going on in Dallas and they better figure it out quick or this will go down as another lost year.
