Keith, Commish

A Fantasy Season with THE Dynasty League is a behind-the-scenes look at one commissioner’s journey through a homegrown dynasty fantasy football league. Each week covers trades, roster moves, rookie updates, league drama, and more — all from the perspective of a manager playing the long game. It’s fantasy football with history, strategy, and just the right amount of chaos.

High Scores & Hurt Egos: Week 2

Week 2 came in hot, leaving egos bruised, rosters broken, and at least one manager staring at the waiver wire like it’s a clearance rack at Walmart. Trades are being teased but not finalized (cowards), the injury bug is already making itself at home, and a few so-called “studs” are putting up stat lines that would make a backup kicker blush. Whether you’re flexing at 2-0 or crying into your FAAB budget, here’s the full breakdown from a week that reminded us all: dynasty is a marathon… but some of y’all are already gassed.

Week 2 Trades

Nothing new to report here this week, but I know there are a lot of offers being sent back and forth out there. I would guess a deal or two gets done for next week’s Dynasty edition.

Wednesday Morning Waivers: $100 FAAB Budge

Hunter Renfrow (Flea Market) – $0

Carson Wentz (Flea Market) – $0

Seahawks D (Accepting Trade Offers) – $5

Tyquan Thornton (Accepting Trade Offers) – $10

Game Recaps

Shake n Bake (2-0) vs Tua Time (0-2)

Shocking to see Tua Time off to an 0-2 start but he’s had a crazy rough schedule to begin the season (combined opp record 4-0). Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown have struggled to get going which is leaving a lot of points out there on the fantasy field. Tua Time’s 168.97 is good enough for the 4th highest score this week and would’ve beaten 8 other lineups. Tucker Kraft is proving to be a huge difference maker at tight end and the contributions from Kamara (17), Gibbs (23) and McMillan (17) would have gotten a win against nearly anyone else.

Shake n Bake is all systems go this season putting up the second most points this week with 196.92. Derek Henry had a rough one after all the smack talk with the Browns, but Jonathan Taylor scored enough points for the both of them. Add in Baker Mayfield doubling up Jalen Hurts in points and Shake n Bake coasted to the win. Any time you get near 30 from your kicker (Aubrey), you’re going to be hard to take down.

Amon Ra Doggin Your Girl (1-1) vs RIcky B (1-1)

Ra Doggin’ was the number one scoring team on the week with 205.08 and  took care of business to ensure he wouldn’t fall to 0-2. Mega contributions for Mr. St. Brown himself 41 and a rebound game from Kenneth Walker helped pave the way. A big game including a touchdown from George Pickens was a welcome addition as well, but there will be some concern as Tee Higgins will be going forward with Jake Browning at QB1.

On the other sideline, Ricky B is pointing fingers everywhere. The success of Kenneth Walker came at the cost of his Zach Charbonnet. Omarion Hampton can’t seem to get going in LA, despite the Charger passing game lighting up box scores seemingly opening up paths. There were two bright spots in Javonte Williams and Rome Odunze as they continue to produce at an elite level. QB1 Josh Allen had a low scoring game, but  that usually means a 60 pointer is loading up for next week.

Big Penix Energy (2-0) vs Yoshi & Friends (0-2)

It was rivalry week in our household and you best believe Big Penix tallied another victory, bringing the series record in their favor to 4-1 all time. The Big Penix energy lineup was fine, the QB situation was not. Fields got hurt, Penix posted 6 and Stroud posted 20. The QB position has been a long standing issue with this team that has kept it from taking advantage of a potential championship window. Things are already muddying with Chase losing his QB, although Browning has proven that he can get the job done and isn’t a total 0 out there.

Yoshi started off the week with a 0 from Jayden Reed as he exited with an injury. Things didn’t improve much more beyond that as they also only got 7 from their QB1 in JJ who will now miss time with an injury of his own. There are a few bright spots here in Jaylen Warren, Chase Brown and Cam Skattebo. It’ll be interesting to see how this team performs moving forward as they search for the win column.

Hanks You Very Much (1-1) vs Bronze Universe (1-1)

Hanks earned a big win to avoid the dreaded 0-2 start against a surprise team that has been competing well through two weeks. Hanks will definitely need more from the RB position if they’re going to string some wins together, 9 points combined from two RB slots won’t cut it. Fortunately, he has Nacua and Achane putting up points to hold things down for now. It’s only a matter of time until Brian Thomas gets going for the Jags.

Bronze has found some steady contributions from his one time all star duo of Mahomes/Kelce. Kelce may not be lighting the world on fire but he’s at least putting up more points this season to justify a starting role. If the mental errors can be removed, Kelce is in line for more points any given week. He also has to be thrilled with what he saw from Malik Nabers and his 40 point effort. It may not always be pretty with Russell WIlson throwing the ball, but he’ll definitely take it! The RB complaint for Hanks definitely applies to Bronze as well. An RB duo of Gainwell and Gordon is a rough one but there’s always time to trade for one!

Blue Know it (2-0) vs The Flea Market (0-2)

Blue Know it continues to take care of business this season behind the star RB duo of Saquon and James Cook. Those two alone will do work each week in the lineup and the WR combination of Smith, Deebo and Justin Jefferson always makes for a lot of points from that way as well. Getting Nick Chubb back, not just from injury, but also contributing the way he has is allowing this team to score big once again this season and he should only improve the further he gets from that injury.

Meanwhile The Flea Market finds themselves in a somewhat unexpected 0-2 hole here. Now that Burrow is lost, that’ll make things even more challenging. Expected stars Pacheco, Jeanty and Harrison are slow out of the gate not making things much easier. Luckily I hear there are some big name backs available that should be able to come in and change things rather quickly if acquired.

Staff Infection (1-1) vs Accepting Trade Offers (1-1)

Trade Offers battled back after an opening week loss and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Lamar did his thing and so did the RB trio of Hubbard, Irving and CMC. We’ll see how that group holds up as we move along here but the big move so far seems to be the week 1 trade of moving off AJ Brown for Nico Collins. Nico may not be lighting things on fire just yet but he’s producing more than Brown at least through two weeks. That trade will be an interesting thing to monitor as weeks go by.

Jayden Daniels may be missing time for Staff Infection who is well prepared with a few back up arms ready to go in Stafford, Darnold or Jones. All of which are off to hot starts in 2025 with Jones being the most surprising of them all so far. The big loss comes in the form of Aaron Jones hitting the IR with a hamstring. Staff Infection has a steady stable of backs to deploy but you never want to see a guy go down. Other notable let downs this week were Ladd McConkey and Drake London. The Falcon passing game looked abysmal but were given a tough task playing the Vikings in their home opener in prime time.

That’ll do it for our week 2 coverage. Let us know if there are any other things you’d like to see us track as the season moves along. We’ll be back with a recap of all the action from week 3 next week!
