Keith, Commish

A Fantasy Season with THE Dynasty League is a behind-the-scenes look at one commissioner’s journey through a homegrown dynasty fantasy football league. Each week covers trades, roster moves, rookie updates, league drama, and more — all from the perspective of a manager playing the long game. It’s fantasy football with history, strategy, and just the right amount of chaos.

Bronze Universe vs Amon Ra Doggin Your Girl

This has to be the best part of this article, reviewing our old startup. We set the draft order by using a random draw on some website that IBronze Universe got off to a quick start Friday night with the Mahomes and Kelce stack putting him ahead and he never looked back against a tough opponent with playoff hopes in 2025. He’ll get away this week with starting Ollie Gordon and Rico Dowdle but I’m not sure that type of luck will continue. A big performance from rookie standout Emeka Egbuka helped seal things on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Amon Ra dealt with some serious under performers by the likes of Nix, Higgins, St. Brown, Pickens.. Too much to over. The Bengals and Higgins should get back on track. Burrow did that thing again where he hyper targeted his crappy tight ends so those guys were the only ones eating in that matchup. Leaving Aaron Rodgers on his bench was costly but I don’t think anyone would seriously consider starting Rodgers last week. cannot remember the name of. The draft also took place on some excel sheet we created because we just didn’t know what we were doing. After finalizing our roster and scoring settings: 1 QB, 12 team, start 9 – standard with a 1 point per first down, we were ready. For the sake of heading down memory lane, I’ve included the top 3 rounds of picks below.

Yoshi & Friends vs Blue Know it

Late game heroics from JJ McCarthy couldn’t save Yoshi late as they fell 163.27-128.39. This group will need to somehow find a contributor or two this season as 1 point from Bateman and 3 points from Golden won’t cut it. Offenses were down across the board this week, but it makes it even more challenging when you open with the runner up from last season.

Speaking of the 2024 runner up, despite losing Worthy early in a silly, unathletic collision with Travis Kelce – They still managed to cruise to victory with stars Barkley, Cook and a reappearance from Deebo! It’ll be interesting to see if Deebo is back from the dead moving forward.

The Flea Market vs Staff Infection

Two owners who are ready to take their team back to the playoffs after being excluded for a while. The Flea Market is fresh off selecting Jeanty 1.01 and paired him with newly acquired piece Isaiah Pacheco. Unfortunately, both backs struggled in week 1 along with quarterback Joe Burrow resulting in an opening weekend loss.

Staff Infection is deep with running backs but it feels somewhat week to week with Aaron Jones, Deandre Swift, Bijan Robinson, James Conner and RJ Harvey. Some of those are more reliable than others but all contributed enough to get the job done. The real concern will be what comes of the shoulder injury sustained by Drake London who’s currently day to day with an AC joint sprain.

Tua Time vs Big Penix Energy

Probably the toughest matchup of opening weekend between two teams who have been near the top the last few seasons. Things started off with a bang on Thursday night between Tua’s Hurts/Brown stack against BPE’s CeeDee Lamb. Hurts did what he does, Brown laid an egg, and Lamb fell about 4 drops short of a mega night. Big Penix Energy had a few other letdowns in Ja’Marr Chase and losing George Kittle to IR will certainly hurt long term.

Some other notable disappoints from Tua Time were Jahmyr Gibbs, Tyreek Hill and Rhamondre Stevenson. Had those guys been able to assist Hurts and Zay Flowers at all – It might’ve resulted in a Tua Time victory.

Accepting Trade Offers vs Ricky B

Trader Offers is a team that won’t go away. A few years removed now from their Dalvin Cook, CMC and Austin Ekeler dominant years, they’re still going but get off to an 0-1  start in 2025. CMC still leads the way but now he’s joined by Hubbard, Irving and a little bit of Ekeler. Dylan Sampson added in 14 points as well. It’ll be interesting to see how Judkins alters the workload of the Browns backfield moving forward.

Ricky B will be up against it all season but will potentially have a more competitive team than we initially thought. Omarion Hampton received a ton of work but couldn’t do much with it in KC. However, the big surprises were the contributions from Javonte Williams and Zach Charbonnet. Ricky will need to find another player or two to fill out the flex and receiver slots before becoming more competitive. As long as he’s starting Josh Allen (60 points), he’ll always at least have a shot.

Shake N Bake vs Hanks You Very Much

The defending champ vs a team hopeful to change their recent misfortunes and push for a playoff appearance in 2025. The 2024 champ got the job done behind 42 points from Derek Henry, Jonathan Taylor and Baker Mayfield’s big performance against Atlanta. Travis Hunter and Calvin Ridley did not have their best performances but there was certainly a reason for that and shouldn’t be any real cause for concern.

Despite the apparent talent difference on the teams, Hanks came up just short of pulling off this upset. Justin Herbert, Achane, and Nacua led the way in this one contributing almost 50% of the total points earned. Hanks will certainly need more from the running back room should they look to compete this season.

Week 1 came up with some definite surprises and there will be plenty more in this crazy game we play. Let us know if there are any other stats or relevant information you’d like to see us track. The best part about this for you, unless you’re in this league, is that you don’t have to live with any of the decisions made by these teams.

We’ll catch you up next once week 2 has wrapped up!
