Keith, Commish

A Fantasy Season with THE Dynasty League is a behind-the-scenes look at one commissioner’s journey through a homegrown dynasty fantasy football league. Each week covers trades, roster moves, rookie updates, league drama, and more — all from the perspective of a manager playing the long game. It’s fantasy football with history, strategy, and just the right amount of chaos.

Week 7: Midseason Mayhem

If Week 7 taught us anything, it’s that nobody,, and I mean nobody, is safe in this league. Superstar explosions, trade chaos, bye-week heartbreaks, and a Bo Nix miracle all collided to create one of the most chaotic fantasy weeks yet. Whether you’re Shake-N-Bake basking in midseason glory or Blue Know It trying to remember what “winning” feels like. Week 7 didn’t just separate contenders from pretenders…it straight-up exposed a few people. Buckle up.

Game Recaps

Shake N Bake (5-2) vs Big Penix Energy (5-2)

Big Penix scored enough to be the 4th highest scorer but ran into a buzz saw of by far and away the highest scoring team in Shake N Bake. Ja’Marr Chase’s (37) franchise record 16 reception game goes to waste alongside the exciting return of CeeDee (23).

7/11 starters went for 20 points or more and those that didn’t, still produced well. It was a complete beat down as Shake N Bake claimed the mid season number one seed. Jonathan Taylor (45) had his third three touchdown game of the season. Travis Hunter (23) enjoyed his breakout game going for 100 yards and a touchdown. Because, of course! Rashee Rice (20) picked up right where he left off as Mahomes go to guy and got in the endzone twice.

GIBBS me my Flowers (4-3) vs Ricky B (4-3)

This one was relatively close until the Monday Night games started, that’s when Jahmyr Gibbs (53) took over and put this one away. HIs 218 yards from scrimmage is the most since Calvin Johnson in 2013 and it helped propel GMMF to a big win this week. We definitely can’t forget Hurts (38) who had the deep ball on full display to AJB (31). Hopefully this will keep him happier a bit longer now.

Ricky B is falling a bit now and they’ve been going a few weeks without some of their big dogs. Javonte Williams (25) continues his huge season but the rest of the team struggled aside from a great performance from Zach Chabonnet (21). It’ll always be tough with Josh Allen on a bye week as he’s one of the few QB’s capable of matching an opponent’s 50 pointer. Ricky will draw a tough matchup against Big Penix who is looking to end their 2 game skid.

Accepting Trade Offers (3-4) vs Blue Know It (2-5)

Is…Blue Know It…rebuilding?? It’s getting tougher and tougher with each loss to see a way they sneak into the 6th seed as they now drop a big one to ATO who has their own eyes on the playoffs. The losses are mounting and all these teams ahead of them now carry the tie break. It will be a difficult hole to climb out of. Saquon Barkley (6) continues to struggle despite the big day from the Philly offense but at least DeVonta Smith (37) cashed in. Things will need to change FAST if they’re hoping to make a run.

Trade Offers had a fun day with MVP candidate Dak Prescott (35) continuing his run and the trade for Tee Higgins (20) paid off! Joe Flacco may be the key to unlocking the Bengal offense. The big MVP of ATO was CMC with a mega 56 point day. CMC was the do it all man for the 49ers on Sunday and the Atlanta defense had no answer for him. It was a BIG win that Trade Offers needed to have in order to stay in the playoff hunt.

The Flea Market (4-3) vs Amon Ra Doggin Your Girl (4-3)

Flea Market ALMOST had this one. He was probably feeling good, his opponent’s QB had a terrible day so far.. But then the 4th quarter started in Denver and Bo Nix (54) came storming back in a big way. The rest of the squad did just enough – Pickens (12), Washington (10), St Brown (18) – Solid contributions that keep the points stacking with no one really hurting the bottom line. Add in the monster day from Nix and you’re 1-0 on the week.

Well, now there’s a QB controversy in Flea Market land. On one hand, Jordan Love (20) is your guy, on the other seems to be the up and coming Jaxson Dart (42). It may be time for you pull a Daboll and put Dart in there full time, but I get the hesitancy. A big day from Judkins (31) against the deceased Dolphins goes to waste but both teams still remain heavy in the playoff hunt.

Bronze Universe (5-2) vs Yoshi & Friends (1-6)

Wait, how? Bronze Universe, how are you 5-2 lol. I didn’t even notice we’re in a three way tie for 1st place which is insane to think about. Patrick Mahomes (41) really has this team on the move and Rico Dowdle (15) keeps on contributing. Chris Olave (25) might finally have a pulse again and might be useful as long as Rattler can continue getting him the ball. I think at this point, Bronze Universe is the team that no one saw coming and it’ll be fun to see how this team performs here during some of the bigger matchups to come.

Yoshi thought they might’ve been able to string together a little two game win streak but the early injury of Byce Young (15) who was forced to exit early kept this one from getting any close. It was a close loss that may have gone different had Kendrick Bourne (2) and Bryce been able to chip in a little bit more. The running back trio of Chase Brown (16), Skattebo (21) and Jaylen Warren (29) may actually get this team going.. But they’re desperate for WR help. Especially now with the loss of Mike Evans.

Hanks You Very Much (2-5) vs Staff Infection (3-4)

Hanks did their best to stay competitive in this one but it’s tough when you have two 0’s and essentially two other 0’s in Henderson (0.5) and Cam Little (1). Points have been hard to come by this season despite having some great talent in place. Achane (15) can usually be counted on but drew a tough matchup against the Browns defense. He certainly did enough to help the team but Hanks needed a Superman effort out of him.

Staff Infection earned the victory behind Superman efforts out of Swift (31) and Bijan (20) but it did cost them Jayden Daniels (27). He at least had a good game before exiting but he’ll now miss next week as well with a hamstring injury. Fortunately, there should be a few good options to plug in there as SI now has some life. They’ll have a great chance to improve to .500 with Yoshi & Friends up next.

Week 7 reminded us that no roster is safe , injuries, upsets, and breakout rookies are flipping the script fast. As we roll into the back half of the season, depth, luck, and a little bit of chaos will separate the contenders from the pretenders. Buckle up , the grind’s just getting good.
