Cowboys Rally From 21 Down to Shock Eagles in Season-Saving Comeback

November 24, 2025

Dallas came into this one in full on playoff mode needing to essentially win out in order to make the post-season. This matchup with Philly is only the first of the upcoming gauntlet Dallas will face as they’ll host the Chiefs on Thanksgiving and travel to Detroit the following week. They’ve had their share of bad losses in 2025 but Jerry made a few moves to bolster up that defense and improve their odds.

Truthfully, the odds didn’t seem all that improved as Philadelphia was having a first half party in Jerry’s World. Jalen Hurts was dancing in the endzone, and their offense was humming to a quick 21-0 lead. Dak and Lamb were out of sync to start with a few throws sailing to the middle of nowhere when Lamb was expecting them somewhere else. On top of that, Lamb’s drop issue resurfaced and started affecting the operation of the offense. They were turning the ball over and bleeding yardage to the Eagles offense. Hurts and AJB were just out there having fun and getting their own timing back. So much so that Brown eclipsed 100 yards and scored his 4th touchdown of the season. They were back to cooking.

About midway through the second quarter, Dallas made a shift to start targeting Pickens a little bit more and the offense began to wake up a bit. Dak connected with Pickens before break and what would happen in the second half would be some sort of strange magic. Credit defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus for making the adjustments needed because his defense tightened up and shut out Philly the rest of the game. Suddenly, the wide open receivers were gone, the time to throw shortened up and Dallas was able to get Hurts to start throwing off platform. Offensively, Dak kept going to Pickens and he just kept producing with his second straight 100 yard day. It would look like the comeback would come up just short when Dallas went for it on 4th and goal from the Eagles 2 yard line and failed, but the defense got them the ball back one last time. Prescott found George Pickens who set up a game winning field goal for Brandon Aubrey and the comeback was complete!

Now, a few things happened to help aid Dak and the boys. The Philly secondary got a little beat up throughout this game which allowed Dallas to find more success. Reed Blankenship went down with a thigh injury and Adoree’ Jackson went into concussion protocol. That shifted their defensive backfield a bit and enabled the Cowboys offense to create some better matchups. The Eagles offense came out super aggressive and sort of just .. stopped. It almost seemed like they got the big lead, became complacent, and stopped attacking.

A major highlight that got lost in this game was Dak Prescott becoming the all time passing yards leader for the Dallas Cowboys. He obtained that honor while they were down by a bunch and things weren’t looking great, so it got lost a little bit in what was going on. Prescott was also able to extend his winning streak against the NFC East to 19 straight victories. My most interesting takeaway is the dominance that Pickens continues to display even with CeeDee Lamb fully healthy from his early season ankle injury. This team just flows so well through Pickens right now and Lamb needs to get the drop situation worked out. Every game the rest of the way carries so much weight and could be the difference in making the playoffs or scheduling their offseason vacations. Dallas will have a quick turnaround and play host to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving. Both teams are in a similar spot where they need to avenge some ugly early season losses to give themselves a shot and playoff football.
