Chicago Keeps Climbing

October 21, 2025

The Chicago Bears took down the New Orleans Saints 26-14 in the early Sunday window, and don’t look now, but the Bears are on a four game win streak!

While the road to the NFC North still goes through the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, the Bears are making efficient work of their early schedule. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and head coach Ben Johnson seem to have found a little bit of a groove together, after a difficult Year 1 with Matt Eberflus.

The Bears defense is also getting it done, forcing four turnovers from the Saints, including three interceptions of Spencer Rattler. Rattler finished the day 20-of-32 for 233 yards, two touchdowns and the three picks.

One of the biggest aspects of the Bear’s success has been the run game, which was headed by D’Andre Swift, who had 138 scrimmage yards, and a rushing touchdown. The Bears offense as a whole had 222 yards on the ground, and only 164 through the air.

When you trust the run game, it opens up avenues in the passing attack, and this is exactly what Johnson wants. He wants to take the pressure off Williams to perform so much and play “hero ball,” where it is all on him.

The Bears now sit at 4-2, and the Saints drop to 1-6.

Chicago goes on the road to face the reeling 1-5 Baltimore Ravens, while the Saints face the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers. How do you think the Bears have looked through seven weeks?
