Cardinals Torch Cowboys in Primetime Meltdown
November 4, 2025
Jerry Jones appeared on the Stephan A Smith Show ahead of Monday’s matchup and hinted that the Cowboys were going to be real active over the next 24 hours with the trade deadline coming on Tuesday at 4 PM. By the time you’re reading this, we’ll already know what moves they’ve made. However, looking at this terrible product against the Cardinals, it’s almost as if.. What’s the point? This Eberflus led defense can’t make it to third down and got walked up and down the field by the likes of Jacoby Brissett and Zonovan Knight.
The Cowboys took the opening possession and pounded the rock with Javonte Williams for a few first downs. Dak found Pickens, he found Lamb, they were cooking and got down into the redzone. The offense inexplicably hyper targeted Ferguson which resulted in nothing. On 4th down, they decided to go for it and Dak took a sack. Despite coming out on fire, they came away with nothing, and their offense stayed asleep for most of the night. Which was very unfortunate because the Arizona offense came out FIRING. Jacoby Brissett looked like prime Tom Brady and Marvin Harrison was his Randy Moss. With a final line of 21/31, 261 yards and two touchdowns, he brought exactly what they needed. Michael Wilson, Trey McBride and Zonovan Knight also took over with over 5 yards per carry. Dallas had no answer defensively. The Eberflus coached group ranks 31st or 32nd in all major defensive categories and it was on full display as Arizona was able to move the ball at will.
Dallas didn’t score a touchdown until the 4th quarter! Unable to get anything going, their lone score for most of the game came off a blocked punt. Sure there was a field goal mixed in there, but who cares, they were down by so much it didn’t matter. They needed touchdowns and the defense was COMPLETELY shutting them down. They were 5/12 on third downs and 0/3 on 4th with three turnovers. The Arizona defense was playing possessed. Even old man Calais Campbell got in on the action with two sacks to close it out in the end.
Look. I don’t think Dak Prescott is an MVP candidate, but we’ve all seen him look better than this. What was strange, though, is how much the offense changed after having so much success in their opening drive of their game. They never regained their form or found that consistency the rest of the night. In the end, it was a true embarrassing performance, and I hope they didn’t make too many costly moves 24 hours after this one wrapped up.
On the flip side, Jacoby Brissett seems to be the key that can unlock the Arizona offense. He found a way to get everyone involved, make smart plays and not turn the ball over. Brissett had some nice anticipatory throws, hitting guys in stride downfield before they were open, it was.. pretty amazing. Mostly because this team has looked so lifeless with Kyler. There’s a lot to be said for Jonathan Gannon to get his group ready for a primetime game in Dallas. Arizona will have a TOUGH road back into the top of the NFC West, but Monday was a nice start.
