Bears Break the Curse, Giants Collapse in the Cold

November 10, 2025

The Bears and Giants are two teams heading in very different directions. Ever since hiring Ben Johnson last January, Chicago has had their sights set on turning into a winning program and playoff football. For the Giants, it’s been tough. So many young talented stars lost for the year, their former quarterback and running back balling out with different organizations. At least they have Dart, right? .. RIGHT?!

The stage was set in Chicago for a tough November football game with some light snowfall and cold weather. Rome Odunze’s father went public with his criticism of his son’s lack of involvement in the offense as of late. The response by the Bears was a few targets on the opening drive. The drive would stall on a 4th down conversion attempt where Williams very nearly connected with DJ Moore in the endzone. It would have been a spectacular play but Moore is certainly capable of making it.

Odzune was even more involved on the second drive as he helped take them downfield where Kyle Monongai punched it in for 6. Monongai didn’t get as much work today with D’Andre Swift back in the lineup. It was somewhat surprising given how fantastic Monongai had looked the previous week against the Bengals. It wasn’t just the production he had against them, it was the way he got it with his quick cuts, vision and speed. That’s no knock on Swift, just somewhat surprising how the workload differed given Swift’s injuries the last few weeks. Together, the ground game produced 108 yards on 20 carries.

The Bears defense was getting AFTER Jaxson Dart and sacked him 4 times. He was still getting it done whether it was through the air or on the ground as he ended up rushing for 66 yards and two scores. He didn’t throw for a touchdown but had one dropped in the endzone. New York also wasn’t getting much from their ground game as Tracy and Singletary combined for 8 yards on 2 carries. As usual, it was the Jaxson Dart show, bailing the Giants out through his spectacular play. However, Daboll is relying on him too much and continuously puts him in position to hurt himself. It seems like Dart is taking a trip to the injury tent and he did so again after fumbling in the third quarter – He was eventually ruled out with a concussion. Enter Russell Wilson who was given a 17-10 lead in the fourth. Russ was only able to provide a three point drive for his best attempt to hold onto the lead.

It’s 20-10 with under 5 minutes remaining, fans are losing hope, the Bears can’t get a first down, it’s starting to look like Chicago will be taking another ugly loss. Same old Bears, NOT so fast. Caleb Williams takes matters into his own hands running it 29 yards and downed at the two. The very next play Williams connected with Odunze to draw within three! Caleb had been heavily pressured all game but managed to find some magic with his own legs on this drive to keep the team alive. On a key third down on defense, Gardner-Johnson took down Russ to force an ugly punt. The ball went nearly sideways and only resulted in a twenty something yard punt.

The Bears offense took over near the 50 and Caleb went to WORK. Finding rookie Luther Burden then calling his own number on a 17 yard touchdown to take the lead. Williams took Brian Burns out of the play on a huge play action fake and immediately took off up the left sideline. Cole Kmet, realizing what’s happening, turned into a blocker downfield and sealed the edge for Williams to go in untouched.

The Giants got another opportunity, but it’s Russell Wilson in 2025, the Bears closed this thing out with ease. Chicago Bears fans have a WINNER. These comeback games, these close score games, teams need to win these before they start turning into the powerhouse that the Bears have their eyes on becoming. Ben Johnson has come in and revamped this roster, changed the culture in one off season and gotten this team to believe in what they’re capable of. It’s not the same old Bears.

As for New York, you should have moved on from Daboll two years ago, but it’s about time you came to your senses. For the Giants sake, hopefully interim head coach Mike Kafka can turn this disaster around.
